For those who plan to travel to Russia or Ukraine and would like to get familiar with the history and culture of these countries, RUBRIC in Derby offers a course of lectures in English.
The course consist of 6 sessions (1,5 hr each) on the following topics:
1) Ancient Kiev - the capital of Kievan Rus', it's place in the international context. 2) Moscow - the capital of the medieval Rus'-Muscovy. 3) The Golden Ring of Russia. The importance of the old Russian cities in the formation of national crafts. 4) St-Petersburg - the capital of Russian Empire. 5) Russian Federation in the contemporary context (1991-2014). 6) Practical advice on trips to Rusian and Ukraine.
