Many
visitors Ñame
to the Russian Pancake Day celebration, organised by the Derby Russian school
RUBRIC. They were so impressed by the celebration and shared their thoughts
with us:
âThis
year, in the end of February, we came to visit our daughter who lives in Derby.
After hearing about RUBRIC, we wanted to find out some about the organisation. Therefore, we decided to come along to the Russian Pancake Day celebration at St
Peterâs Church in Derby city centre.
We were so
impressedâ it was a great cultural event!
The children and adults were dressed up in
colourful Russian costumes and this,
together with the colourful display of Russian dolls and other Russian
artefacts, were remarkable, especially for the British audience. We all thoroughly enjoyed the traditional
singing and dancing by both children and adults. The culmination was the
traditional Russian game involving everyone and, obviously, eating delicious
pancakes! That gave us a feeling of insight into different cultures and
bringing them together in a special gathering.
The atmosphere was fantastic and we are really grateful to the
folks at RUBRIC for organising such a great event!" Photogallery Videos
